Building Your Children’s Ministry to Affect Kids for Their Lifetime Part 1

  • Survey Your Ministry!

What are your ministry’s strengths and weaknesses?  Evaluate your ministry team—are you working together in harmony?  Are you accomplishing lasting results?  Does your children’s ministry retain children and attract new ones?  Are you helping build your church?

  • Develop Vision—Draw Your Blue Print

What is your church’s vision?  Your children’s ministry should be an extension of that vision.  Define your vision in a single statement.  Your vision must be simple and credible so that people can grasp hold of it and help you run with it. “And the Lord answered me, and said, ‘Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it,” Habakkuk 2:2

Our vision in a “nutshell” is EVANGELISM & DISCIPLESHIP!

“Barely Get By” Just Isn’t Good Enough!

Lay a strong foundation in each child’s life that will last a lifetime!  Challenge yourself and your ministry team to go beyond the “quick fix, fast food, puffed cereal” mentality.  Be willing to invest           the time and effort necessary to feed your children a strong, spiritual, health food diet that “tastes” great and keeps them coming back for more!  The Word of God that kids apply will carry them successfully through life.

  • Plan—What are the Steps Toward Achieving Your Vision?

What do you need to do to get you where you want to go?  One definition of the word insanity is to do the same thing and expect different results.  You must be willing to change!  What’s first?  List your priorities.  Understand that building something that will last requires commitment and an investment of prayer, time and work!

We write curriculum to help disciple the people who teach it.  Teachers can only teach and model what they know and live!  We endeavor to write curriculum that challenges our teachers to grow spiritually so that they can challenge the kids to grow spiritually!
